The distances, that our daly food, like Tomatoes, Sweet Pepper, Onions or Potatoes have to travel, to find there way into our kitchens and re- frigerators are huge. The customer awareness towards the thousands of kilometers that nearly all our aliments have to cover, is at the moment barely existing. Our criterion for exclusion at the supermarket, is in most cases based on the price. The project "Nahrungswege" is puting these distances into focus. The price labes, sticking on the groceries, are not showing their price, but the distance that the vegetable had to travel from the place of production, to the place it was bought, in kilometers. |
